Flag Football

In a dominant season opener, the Black Hawks rolled past Rochester High School 31–0, showcasing a complete team performance on both sides of the ball. From the very first snap, there was energy, execution, and confidence, exactly what this program is being built on.

The offense didn’t just move the ball, they controlled the game.

  • Milan Thai-Tang (grade 11) - 2 rushing TDs, setting the tone with toughness and vision
  • Julia Finkelstein (grade 9) - Receiving TD, strong hands in big moments
  • Kendyll Parker (grade 11) - Receiving TD, playmaker in space
  • Raina James (grade 9) - Extra point conversion
  • Eva Kontos (grade 9) - 2 TD passes + 1 conversion. Calm, confident, and in complete control, spreading the ball and making plays when it mattered most

The defense was relentless.

  • Holiday Lucai-Sample (grade 11) - 8 flag pulls (game leader)
  • Liana Le (grade 11) - 5 flag pulls
  • Faith VanNorwick (grade 10) - 4 flag pulls + INT return for TD
  • Angelina Gieleghem (grade 9) - 2 interceptions

A special shoutout to Melanie Hummon (grade 11), the heartbeat of this team. Originally set to lead at QB, a foot injury may have kept her off the field, but not out of the game. From tracking stats to bringing nonstop sideline energy, Hummon continues to be a leader in every sense.
