BHHS Students Shine in MSBOA All-State Ensemble Auditions

BHHS Students Shine in MSBOA All-State Ensemble Auditions

This prestigious honor recognizes exceptional talent and dedication among young musicians across the state. These ensembles include a concert band, a jazz band, and an orchestra. Selected students gather at the Michigan Music Conference, held annually in January in Grand Rapids. During the conference, members participate in intensive rehearsals led by nationally renowned clinicians and culminate their experience with a performance on the DeVos Hall stage.

Earning a placement or receiving an honorable mention for these ensembles is no small feat. Hundreds of students across Michigan undergo a rigorous, anonymized audition process to compete for these coveted spots. This year, the following BHHS students were recognized for their exceptional talent and hard work:

  • Evan Smith, class of 2027, clarinet, Concert Band Honorable Mention

  • Casey Knas, class of 2026, trumpet, Jazz Band Honorable Mention

  • Aidan Sun, class of 2025, violin, Orchestra

  • Derek Han, class of 2027, cello, Orchestra

  • Jinglu Jiang, class of 2025, viola, Orchestra

We are incredibly proud of these students for their achievements and for representing BHHS on such a prominent stage. Their dedication to their craft and their passion for music serve as an inspiration to our entire school community.
