BHHS Theatre Productions Win 2nd in MIFA State Competitions
Bloomfield Hills High School’s advanced acting classes produced two shows that qualified for the Michigan Interscholastic Forensics Association State competitions: The Addams Family performed by Acting 3 students, and Elephant’s Graveyard, performed by IB Theatre students. The Mainstage productions in this year’s MIFA competition were comedies, while the Studio productions were dramas. Qualifying as a Division 1 Mainstage production, The Addams Family placed 2nd in the state! Qualifying as a Division 1 Studio production, Elephant’s Graveyard also placed 2nd in the state! Congratulations to our many talented students both on and off the stage who produced these fabulous shows, and to BHHS Theatre Director Mary Bogrette for leading them to this success!
Addams Family was chosen as the “People’s Choice” production, signifying that it was enjoyed by other schools’ students and directors! And Elephant’s Graveyard won the “Innovations in Theatre” award, voted on by directors!
