BHHS Theatre Troupe Wins Big at “ThesFest”

Michigan Educational Theatre Association held the annual state Thespian Festival in Lansing, MI this year. BHHS’ theatre Troupe 8055 had 14 students attend. Students participated in workshops, senior scholarship auditions, watched productions and competed in different theatre categories, both acting and technical. Students Caleb Bivens, Kaden Kouyoumjian, Pallavi Ploucha, and Brady Wilson (all grade 12) collectively earned over $2 million in scholarships. Bivens, Aamina Chammout (grade 11), Andrew Cholakian (grade 10), Kouyoumjian, Sam Lotzoff (grade 11), Lily Novetsky (grade 10), and Ploucha, and all earned excellent and superior awards. Chammout was also chosen to be a part of the finale dance choreographed by the Central Michigan University dance department.

Ploucha, one of ten elected Student State Thespian Officers, ran a workshop at the festival, did a great job organizing the opening and closing ceremonies, and also ran a fundraiser at the event.

Congratulations on a job well done!
