  • The BHHS Boys Varsity Basketball team had a successful season. The team finished 14-10 overall with a league record of 9-5, finishing in third place. Guard Da’ron Mason (grade 11), led the team in scoring with 19.2 points per game and also led the team in rebounding and steals. Mason was selected to the OAA All-League team and was voted as the team’s MVP.

Guard Carter Canfield (grade 10), started every game for the Black Hawks and was the team’s second leading scorer. Canfield also led the team with three-point shots made and three-point shooting percentage. Defensively, Canfield led the team in charges taken. Canfield was selected to the OAA All-League team, and earned a scholarship offer from Indiana Tech.

 Carter Hartfield (grade 10), was the starting point guard for every game and contributed in many statistical categories. Hartfield was third on the team in scoring, second in rebounds and first on the team in free throw percentage. Hartfield was second on the team in assists and steals, earned the team’s defensive award, and was named to the OAA All-League team.

 Other contributing players include Meyer Saperstein (grade 11), Mason Hitchcock (grade 10), Brennan Bies (grade 11), and Ryan Hunt (grade 11). Saperstein led the team in assists and assist/turnover ratio, and was named by the team to the New Impact Player Award. The team wishes to thank players Anthony Ammori (grade 12) and Micah Henderson (grade 12) for their commitment and dedication to the team.

  • The BHHS Girls Varsity Basketball team finished the season with 10 wins and 12 losses. Their play improved as the season progressed. The team beat Groves 55 - 33 in the first round of the playoffs, and followed up the win with a great performance against Southfield A&T, winning 51 - 47. Briana Young (grade 12) had 22 rebounds, 6 assists, and 9 points. Evia Barbu (grade 9) led all scorers with 16 points. The season ended after the Black Hawks lost to Marian in the District Championship, 54 - 45.
  • The BHHS Girls Hockey team finished the season 13 - 7. The team won their first playoff game before losing to the eventual champion 0 - 2 in the quarterfinals. Several players received All-State recognition: 1st team - Birdie Parker (grade 12), 2nd team - Alia Somero (grade 12), Lily Ehmann  (grade 12), and Avery Walters (grade 9); and All-Freshman recognition - Natalia Ben-Ezra and Avery Walters. 
  • Nolan Metts (grade 11) represented BHHS in Powerlifting and took 2nd place in his class in the state competition, squatting 585 pounds, bench pressing 380 pounds, and deadlifting 580 pounds for an incredible total score of 1545!
  • The BHHS Boys Swim and Dive team finished strong scoring the second highest total in BHHS history at the state meet in Holland. Ranked 23rd going in, the team gained an unheard of average of 13 places per event versus seed times, and 14 places overall finishing in 9th place. A highlight was when Miles Marx (grade 10) lowered his school record to 20.96! Kudos to all of the state team members: Captain Emmett Schrader (grade 12), Charlie Antone (grade 11), Aidan Goodwin (grade 11), Miles Marx, Victor Malinski (grade 10), Seif Elbaradey (grade 10), Francis Baker (grade 9) and first year coach Jerome Wiater on a fantastic state meet and season.
  • The BHHS Wrestling team had a great season! Kanata Richardson (grade 11) won a historical State Championship! Anthony Najjar (grade 12) qualified for the state tournament, won team MVP, and won over 100 matches over his career. Chase Roumayah (grade 12) also won over 100 matches over his career! The team won the District championship.
