October Athletic Highlights

The Black Hawks boys and girls Cross Country team wrapped up their season with nearly all of their athletes setting personal records and accomplishing their goals for the season.  Taye Levenson (grade 12) finished first in the league OAA White meet and qualified for the MHSAA State Finals along with Olivia Jenney (grade 10) who finished 8th in the OAA White league meet and 10th at the Region 8-1 meet. Jenney now has the #1 time in BHHS history (18:54) and the #7 time all time (Andover, BHHS, Lahser combined) while Levenson improved his #1 time and remains #2 on the all time list (15:26.5).

The Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks Girls Varsity Golf Team ended the regular season with a third-place finish in their regional qualifier. That achievement qualified the team for the State Championship at the Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, MI. The team finished in 14th place overall, with stand-out performances by Avery Law (grade 12) and Magdalena Leonard (grade 11). All of the girls played well and the team looks forward to competing in the State Championship again next year.

CONGRATULATIONS to the number one ranked BHHS Varsity A Tennis Team!! The team won the MHSAA Division 1 Finals for a third straight time! All 12 players advanced to the semi-finals, 8 players went to the finals and 7 won individual championships! The team finished the tournament with a significant victory! Varsity B Tennis concluded a successful season. This very young team, with 18 new members out of 26, achieved an excellent record of 7-2-1. The team also won a four team quad meet and finished second in the eight team Eisenhower Quad.
